About The Event

Two full-immersion introductory workshops with

& MARC J ACQUAVIVA

"Most yoga enthusiasts will venture deep into the meaning of 'grounding', 'opening', the relevance of breath awareness and ther such things. But because the principle of Ahimsa, or non-violence, is such an obvious truth, it is rare for people to explore its meaning directly in the approach to 'difficult' postures. Culturally, it is presumed that when something is difficult, we need to become 'stong enough' or 'resilliant enough' to be able to get past our difficulites and 'achieve' whatever it is we are trying to do....

Enter a new kind of yoga. Vanda Scaravelli started the first leg of a revolution in the world of yoga. " If the spine is to elongate, the pushing and pullng needs to stop" - V. S.

What I have personally found, is that if there is ANY restriction or complication in the body's natural function and movement, it is simply because the body is protecting itself from some unharmonious relationship. And if you want to resolve the complication, you simply need to find a better relationship. In the moment that you discover that relationship, the complication simply dissapears. The experience is radical, inherently 'different', so the relationship needs to be practiced.

Applying principles directly to physical practice is the basis of my work - the outcome seems to be transformation at the deepest level ".
